CAMPHOR OINTMENT 10%

INSTRUCTION

on the use of camphor Ointment 10 % in veterinary medicine

I. General information

1. Trade name of the preparation: camphor Ointment 10% (Unguentum Camphoratum 10%).

International nonproprietary name: camphor (Camphora).

2. Dosage form: ointment for external use.

Preparation B100 g as the active ingredient contains 10 g of camphor and ointment base. The drug is a homogeneous mass of yellowish color with a characteristic smell of camphor.

3. Camphor ointment 10% produced packaged in cans of polymer material for 15 g, 40 g, 60 g, 100 g, 200 g and 500 g.

Shelf life ointment-1 year from the date of production. It is forbidden to use camphor Ointment 10% after the expiration date.

4. Store the drug in a dry, protected from light place at a temperature of 5°C to 25°C.

5. Ointment Camphor 10% stored in places inaccessible to children.

6. Unused product with expired shelf life is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.

II. Pharmacological properties

7. Pharmacotherapeutic group: local irritant of plant origin. Camphor ointment 10% has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, irritating effect.

According to the degree of impact on the body camphor Ointment 10% refers to low-risk substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).


III. The order of application

8. Camphor ointment is used to treat arthritis, bursitis, tendovaginitis, myositis, industrial, sports and domestic injuries in all species of animals, as well as subclinical mastitis in cows, mares, camels, sheep and goats in the dry period.

9. Contraindications to the use of the drug is an individual hypersensitivity to its constituent components. Do not apply camphor Ointment 10% in violation of the integrity of the skin, burns, frostbite and purulent skin diseases. Do not allow the ointment to get into the eyes and mucous membranes.

10 camphor Ointment is applied externally in the form of rubbing, applying it in an even thin layer to the skin area in the inflammatory process and rubbing with a light massaging motion for 2-3 minutes 1-2 times a day, for 10-12 days. Camphor ointment should not be applied to areas with a violation of the integrity of the skin. The ointment has no side effects and does not cause complications in animals.

11. Symptoms of overdose in the application of the drug is not revealed.

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with camphor Ointment 10%. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have the instructions for use of the drug and the label).
