TABLETS TETRACYCLINE HYDROCHLORIDE

INSTRUCTIONS

of using Tablets tetracycline hydrochloride for the treatment of bacterial infections in animals.

1. General information 

1.1 Tetracycline hydrochloride (Tetracyclini hidrochloridum).

1.2 The active substance is tetracycline hydrochloride. Synonyms: tetracycline hydrochloride tablets.

1.3 Tetracycline hydrochloride is a tablet of the correct round form, yellow or greenish-yellow in color. Allowed light marble. Each tablet contains 0.5 g of active substance.

1.4 The preparation is produced at 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 pieces in an opaque polymer container. Tablets are stored with caution (List B) in a dry, protected from light place, at temperatures from 00C to plus 200C.

Shelf life of the drug is 2 years from the date of manufacture if the storage conditions are observed.

2. Pharmacological properties 

2.1. The basis of the antibacterial effect of tetracycline is the suppression of protein synthesis of microorganisms. Tetracycline has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity, it is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative microbes, rickettsia, and some large viruses. It is not effective for infections caused by a proteus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, yeast fungi.

2.1 In the digestive tract, tetracycline is well absorbed and distributed throughout the body. The maximum concentration is created in the blood after 1.5 to 2 hours after a single oral administration and is held at this level for 10 to 12 hours. Of the organism, the antibiotic is excreted mainly in the urine

3. The order of application 

3.1 The drug is used to treat young animals of farm animals with pasteurellosis, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, gastroenterocolitis and pneumonia of bacterial etiology and other diseases. whose pathogens are sensitive to tetracycline.

3.2 Tablets are administered orally at intervals of 12 hours for 5-7 days in doses: calves and lambs – 20 mg, piglets – 30 mg / kg of animal weight.

3.3 Adverse effects in recommended doses are generally not observed. In some cases, note vomiting, diarrhea, discoloration of tooth enamel.

3.4 Contraindication to the use of the drug is the individual intolerance of tetracyclines. Tablets tetracycline hydrochloride are incompatible with preparations containing aluminum. calcium magnesium, iron, worsening the adsorption of the drug.

3.5 Slaughter for meat of animals given tetracycline tablets is allowed not before 6 days after discontinuation of the drug.
