II Pharmacological properties

7. Pharmacotherapeutic group: means of killing ectoparasites. Pharmacological properties of the drug Hypphosphos are due to its constituent active substances cypermethrin, tetrametrin, piperonyl butoxide and diethyltoluamide.

Cypermethrin, tetramethrin, piperonyl butoxide are insecticidal-acaricidal agents of intestinal contact action from the class of synthetic pyrethroids. They are active against various species of ticks, flies, lice and other ectoparasites of animals. Violate the function of the nervous system, acting on sodium-potassium channels and calcium exchange in the synapses, which leads to the release of excessive amounts of acetylcholine during the passage of a nerve impulse. Poisoning in arthropods is manifested in a strong excitation, lesion of motor centers, accompanied by paralysis and subsequent death. Has a long residual effect on the skin-hair cover of animals and the treated surfaces of the premises. Mutually reinforce each other’s action.

Diethyltoluamide (Diethyltoluamide) is an insecticide that has a repellent effect, effectively protects against the bites of bloodsucking insects (mosquitoes, slimy, mosquitoes, midges, flies, fleas, bloodsucking flies, mites, etc. The mechanism of action of diethyltoluamide is based on interaction with olfactory receptors of arthropods, which causes scaring effect.

A special combination of active ingredients and excipients in the preparation increases the life of the drug for up to 30 days.

The drug  Giphlofos for toxicity  refers to moderately toxic (hazard class III according to GOST 12.1.007-76). In the recommended mode of administration and doses, it does not have a skin-resorptive, local irritant and sensitizing effect.

III. Application procedure

8. The drug is used to treat animals (cattle, horses, camels, reindeer, pigs, sheep and goats, fur-bearing animals, dogs and cats, rabbits), premises and equipment for the destruction of ectoparasites, flying insects and cockroaches.

9. Contraindication to the use of the drug is the individual intolerance of its components.

10. The rates of drug consumption in the treatment of animals are: cattle, horses, camels, reindeer from 35 to 60 ml, pigs-25-30 ml, sheep-30-32 ml, dogs – 14-16 ml.

The aerosol can is shaken before the treatment, the protective cap is removed and, by pressing the spray head, the aerosol torch is directed from a distance of 25-30 cm to the skin-hair cover of the animal. The rate of drug release is 2.4 ml / s. From one aerosol can of 170 ml, 3-4 heads of cattle, horses, camels, reindeer, 5-6 heads of sheep, 6-7 pigs or 10-12 dogs are treated.

When using a non-propellant balloon, a protective cover is removed from it, in place of which the trigger nozzle is screwed. The balloon body is pressed with a hand until the jet of the preparation emerges from the nozzle and, by pressing the handle of the sprayer, is processed.

The drug is sprayed from a distance of 25-30 cm. The rate of drug release is about 2.0 ml / s. From one non-propellant balloon 500 ml (1000 ml) is treated with 8-14 (16-28) heads of cattle, horses, camels, reindeers, 15-16 (30-32) heads of sheep, 16-20 (32-40) heads of pigs or 31-36 (62-72) dogs.

Prepacked in plastic jerricans, the drug is sprayed with various types of hand, mounted, trailed, self-propelled sprayers and aerosol disinfection apparatus (TAN, RCC, SAG-1, etc.) based on the above stated consumption rates.

The drug, packaged in droppers, is used to treat local skin lesions with a cotton swab, or instilled in the auricle in the treatment of dog demodicosis, rabbit psoroptosis, dog otodectosis and fur animals. Before working with the dropper, remove the protective cap.

The treatment of animals against flying insects (flies, flies, mosquitoes, gnats, midges) is carried out once during the mass summer and repeated as necessary. Aerosol of the drug is applied to the entire surface of the body, especially the head, abdomen and extremities area based on the above stated consumption rates. The treatment of animals is carried out outdoors individually or in groups. Similarly, the drug is used for sifunkulatozah cattle and pigs.

To destroy winged flies, the preparation is sprayed into the air or applied on the surface in places of flies localization at the rate of 1 ml per 1 m3 and 10-12 ml per 1 m2 of the room. From one aerosol can, you can treat a room with a capacity of 170 ml or 15-17 m2 of equipment surface, from one non-propellant balloon with a capacity of 500 and 1000 ml -40-45 and 80-90 m2, respectively. Before processing in the room, windows and doors are closed. In summer camps, flies are destroyed by selective application of the drug to internal and external walls, canopies, pens and other places of localization of insects, avoiding its entry into milking equipment and dairy equipment.

After the treatment, the rooms are kept closed for 1-1.5 hours, after which they are well ventilated for 30 minutes.

To combat cockroaches on livestock facilities, treatment of premises can be carried out in the presence of animals. In the points for the reception and processing of livestock products before processing, the equipment is covered with a polyethylene film. The treatment site is subjected to localization of insects twice with an interval of 10-12 days.

To combat lice, fleas and hair in mink, dogs and cats, the drug is sprayed onto the entire surface of the animal’s body for 2-3, 5-7 and 3-5 seconds, respectively. Pregnant mink is treated no later than two weeks before the pupping. Treatment of mink with puppies is carried out at an ambient temperature of at least 10-15 0С. Repeated treatment is carried out according to indications after 13-15 days.

For extermination of flea places, the Hypphosphos congestion is treated with booths (lodges) for dogs and enclosure enclosures. The drug consumption is 50-60 ml / m2 of the surface to be treated. The litter of sawdust, straw is removed and burned, and from other materials – washed with detergents.

Sheep, suffering from psoroptosis, treat only the cut, irrigating the entire body of the animal. With a preventive purpose, the treatment is carried out once. With a pronounced illness, treatment is carried out twice with an interval of 8-10 days. The drug consumption is 30-32 ml per animal.

When scabies and demodecoses of cattle and pigs, the drug in the form of an aerosol is applied to the skin-hair covering of the entire surface of the body, regardless of the degree of damage. The treatment is carried out twice with an interval of 8-12 days.

In case of demodecosis of dogs and cat noctroidosis, the affected areas of the body before treatment are cleaned of crusts and scabs with a cotton-gauze swab. Then on the affected areas and adjacent areas of healthy skin from the periphery to the center, apply Giphlofos in the form of an aerosol for 1 second, or moistened from a vial dropper with a tampon of 0.1-0.3 ml (3-10 drops) per 1 kg mass of the animal. To avoid licking Giphlofos the jaws of the animal are closed with a loop of braid, which is removed after 15 minutes after applying the drug. Animals with extensive skin lesions are treated in two doses at intervals of 1 day, applying the drug first to one, and then to the other half of the affected surface. The treatment is carried out four times at intervals of 5-7 days.

In case of psoroptosis of rabbits, otodectosis of fur animals, dogs and cats, the ear form of sarcoptic swine, the ear canal is previously cleaned from scabs and crusts moistened with hydrogen peroxide.Giphlofos in aerosol packaging is applied from a distance of 25-30 cm for 2 seconds (when using the drug in non-propellant balloons, press the spray pen 2 times), directing the torch to the inner surface of the auricle. From the vial-dropper the drug is applied depending on the size of the animal for 0.5-1.0 ml (15-35 drops) in each ear. For more complete treatment, the auricle is folded in half and slightly massaged by its base. The treatment is carried out twice with an interval of 7-8 days. Repeat the treatment as necessary.

To combat chicken mites, small poultry houses (farms, private sector) should be treated in the absence of birds. After the treated surface dries (after about 30-40 minutes), wash with the addition of detergents from drinking bowls and feeders and open the access of the bird to the room. The most favorable conditions for processing at room temperature are 20-25 ° C. Repeated treatments are carried out after 8-12 days.

11. Symptoms of overdose when using the drug in accordance with this instruction is not established. If the recommended dose is exceeded, poisoning of animals is possible. When  Giphlofos poisoned, cattle are injected intramuscularly with 1% atropine at a dose of 0.5 mg / kg (5 ml of 1% atropine per 100 kg). To horses, pigs, rabbits, atropine is administered at a dose of 1 μ / kg.

For more effective treatment, 10% calcium chloride solution is used intravenously at a rate of 0.5 ml / kg 1-2 times a day for 2 to 3 days, 40% glucose solution intravenously at a dose of 1 ml / kg and intraperitoneal administration isotonic solutions of table salt (0.9%) in a volume of 0.5 – 2.0 liters.

12. The characteristics of the drug at the beginning of the use of  Giphlofos when it was withdrawn is not revealed.

13. Passage of the next treatment with the drug should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic effectiveness. In the case of missing one or more treatments, the use of  Giphlofos resumed as soon as possible in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

14. Adverse events and complications in the use of  Giphlofos accordance with this instruction is not established.

15. The use of Giphlofos does not exclude the use of other drugs.
