AMOXYCILLINE 15%

MERGEFORMATINET

Wide spectrum of antimicrobial action.

INSTRUCTIONS of using  Amoxicillin 15%” in veterinary medicine

(organization – manufacturer: “BioKhimPharm”, Raduzhny, Vladimir region).

1 General Information

1.1 Amoxicillin 15% (Amoxicicilinum 15%).

1.2 An antibacterial long-acting preparation containing 150 mg of amoxicillin in the form of trihydrate in 1 ml as an active ingredient.

1.3 The preparation is a suspension from white to light brown in color, which separates during storage.

1.4 The preparation is produced in glass bottles, bottles of 100.0 and 200.0 ml.

1.5 The preparation is stored with caution (List B) at a temperature from plus 4 ° C to plus 25 ° C in a dry, dark place.

Shelf life – 2 years, provided that the storage rules are observed.

2 Pharmacological properties

2.1 Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic antibiotic from the penicillin group. It has a wide spectrum of bactericidal activity against Gram-positive (Actinomyces spp., Bacillus anthracis., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathrix rhusiopathiae., Listeria monocytoqenes. Staphilococecus spp.,) And Gram-negative microorganisms (Actinobacillus spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, E . coli, Salmonella spp., Fusobacterium spp., Haemophilus spp., Moraxella spp., Pasteurella spp., Proteus mirobillis). The drug does not affect the penicillinase-forming strains of microorganisms from the genera Klebsiella and EnterobakterYu and also Pseudomonas.

2.2 Amoxicillin interferes with the synthesis of the cell membrane of the bacterium by inhibiting the enzymes of transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase and causing a disturbance in the osmotic balance, which leads to the death of the bacterium at the growth stage. The oil filler, which is part of the preparation, gradually releases micronized amoxicillin into the blood, thereby ensuring a prolonged action of the antibiotic.

2.3 In case of parenteral use, the antibiotic is well absorbed into the blood from the injection site and penetrates into all organs and tissues of the body. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is achieved 1-2 hours after the administration of the drug and remains at the therapeutic level for 48 hours. Amoxicillin is practically not metabolized. It is excreted from the body mainly with urine, to a lesser extent with milk and bile.

3. Procedure for the use of the drug

3.1 The drug is used to treat cattle, calves, pigs with bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract (including enteritis, bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, rhinitis), surgical diseases (including wounds, abscesses, joint inflammation), diseases of the genitourinary system (metritis, endometritis, cystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis), skin and soft tissue diseases (including umbilical infections), as well as complications caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to amoxicillin.

The drug is administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly at a dose of 0.5-1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight once a day. Before use, the contents of the vial are shaken thoroughly until a uniform suspension is obtained. If necessary, repeated administration of the drug after 48 hours is possible. The maximum amount of introduction to one place should not exceed for cattle – 20 ml, pigs – 10 ml, calves -5. Place the injection after the injection is recommended to lightly massage.

3.3 Side effects: Animals may have allergic reactions to amoxicillin, which quickly pass after discontinuation of the drug. When allergic reactions occur, it is advisable to administer antihistamines to animals. The drug should not be used for infections caused by bacteria forming penicillinase.

3.4 Contraindications: The drug is contraindicated for agricultural animals with increased sensitivity to penicillin. The drug is not suitable for intravenous administration, it should not be mixed with other drugs in the same syringe, nor can it be used simultaneously with bacteriostatic chemotherapeutic agents.

3.5 The drug is compatible with the drugs: cloxacillin, aminoglycosides (streptomycin, neomycin, gentamicin, kanamycin) or polymyxins (colistin), which enhance its effect.

3.6 The deadline for pre-slaughtering animals after the last use of the preparation is: for meat -28 days, milk – 7 days. Meat of animals that have been killed before the expiration of this period may be used for feeding fur-bearing animals. Milk, obtained earlier than the prescribed period, can be used after boiling for feeding animals.

4. Personal prevention measures

4.1 General safety and personal hygiene requirements must be observed when handling the product.

5 The procedure for the presentation of complaints

5.1 In the event of complications after application of the drug, its use is terminated and the consumer applies to the State Veterinary Institution in whose territory he is located.

Veterinary specialists of this institution make a study of compliance with all rules for the use of the drug in accordance with the instructions. When confirming the negative impact of the drug on the animal’s organism, veterinarians select samples in the required quantity for laboratory tests, write a sampling report and go to the State institution to confirm compliance with regulatory documents.
