BIOSANIT

INSTRUCTIONS

of using Biosanit 

as an antiseptic, wound-healing, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent in the complex therapy of wound and skin infections of bacterial and fungal etiology in animals 

(Organization-developer: “BioKhimPharm”, Vladimir region, Raduzhny town) 

I. General information 

1. Trade name: Biosanit.

International non-proprietary name: tar birch, levomitsetin, gentianviolet.

2. Dosage form: solution for external use in aerosol containers.

Biosanite in 100 ml contains as active ingredients birch-14 g of tar, 4.8 g of levomycetin, 0.125 g of gentian violet, 19.75 g of Swap-3 resin, 11.25 g of pine rosin and ethyl alcohol up to 100.

3. The shelf life of Biosanit under the conditions of storage is 1 year from the date of manufacture.

It is forbidden to use the medicinal product after the expiry date.

4. Biosanite is stored in the manufacturer’s closed packaging, in a dry, dark place away from heating appliances, separate from food and feed at a temperature of 50 to 200 C.

5. Biosanit is stored in places inaccessible to children.

6. The unused medicinal product with the expired useful life shall be disposed of with household waste.

II. Pharmacological properties 

7. Biosanit refers to antibacterial drugs for topical application.

Biosanite has antiseptic, wound-healing, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Tar birch has antiseptic, keratoplastic, keratolytic, anti-inflammatory properties; improves blood supply of tissues, moderately irritates sensitive nerve endings, thereby stimulating the regeneration of the epidermis of damaged skin, and also drying up wounds and accelerating their healing.

Levomycetin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is effective against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Haemophilus spp., Shigella spp., Klebsiella spp., Serratia spp., And other microorganisms sensitive to levomycetin.

Gentianviolet belongs to the group of triphenylmethane antiseptic dyes and has an antifungal and antimicrobial effect.

The drug belongs to the 4 hazard class (low-hazard substances) according to GOST 12.1.007-76. In recommended doses, it does not have a local irritant and sensitizing effect.

III. The order of application 

8. Biosanite is used as an antiseptic, wound healing, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent in complex therapy of wound and skin infections of bacterial and fungal etiology in different species of animals (except for cats): with cracks, wounds of the intercumulus cleft, sloughing of the upper layer of the hoof horn, damage to the sole of the hoof and crumb of foreign bodies, infectious laminitis and poddermatitis, ulcers of Rusterholz, as well as dermatitis, eczema, superficial open wounds, ulcers and abscesses.

9. Biosanite is prohibited for use in cats, due to the specific sensitivity to tar and animals with hypersensitivity to the drug.

10. Before applying the aerosol, sanitize the damaged surface. Aerosol spray from a distance of 15-20 cm, for 1-2 seconds, once or twice a day, the treatment, depending on the severity of the damage, is repeated for 3-8 days. After using Biosanite for 5 minutes, do not allow the formed film to lick.

11. Symptoms of overdose are not revealed.

12. In case of allergic reactions, use of the drug is stopped and symptomatic therapy is administered.

13. In case of missing the next treatment, it is recommended to hold it as soon as possible. Further, the processing interval does not change.

14. Adverse events and complications with the use of Biosanit is not observed.

If you get into the mucous membranes of the animal’s eyes, a slight irritation is possible.

15. Biosanite does not exclude the use of other drugs for the treatment of hooves, except for strongly acidic and strongly alkaline solutions.

16. Slaughtering of animals for meat and the use of milk for food purposes during and after application of Biosanit are carried out without restriction on general grounds.

In case of forced slaughter, the skin areas treated on the carcass should be cleaned.

IV. Personal prevention measures 

17. When working with a medicinal product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions prescribed in dealing with medicinal products should be observed.

18. When working with Biosanit it is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. After working with the drug, wash your hands with soap and water.

19. If Biosanit hits the skin and mucous membranes, flush them with plenty of tap water.
