Amoxicillin – active substance Aklatsina – semisynthetic antibiotic group of penicillins. Clavulanic acid inactivates the penicillin penicillin-resistant microorganisms and thereby restores the sensitivity of bacteria to the bactericidal action of amoxicillin.

The mechanism of antibacterial action of amoxicillin is to suppress the functional activity of bacterial enzymes of transpeptidases involved in binding the main component of the cell wall of microorganisms – peptidoglycan, which leads to the death of bacteria.

The combination of amoxicillin with clavulanic acid has a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including strains producing lactamase: Clostridium spp., E. Coli, Salmonella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp, Proteus mirabilis, Streptococcus spp and etc.

Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid are rapidly absorbed from the injection site and reach a peak concentration 2 hours after the administration of the drug. Isolation of the drug from the body occurs mainly with urine.
