WOLFAZOL

 

 

INSTRUCTION

of using Wolfasol for the treatment of wounds in sheep in order to prevent and treat tungstiosis

(Organization-developer:  “BioKhimPharm”, Vladimir region, Raduzhny town)

I. General information

1. Trade name of the preparation: Wolfasolum.

International non-proprietary name: chlorophos, ethyl acetate, erythromycin, birch tar.

2. Dosage form: solution for external use.

Wolfazol contains the active substances chlorophos, ethyl acetate, erythromycin, birch tar, as well as a film-forming component and a solvent.

3. Wolphazole is produced by packaging in aerosol cans with protective caps or in non-propellant cylinders with sprayers.

Shelf life of the medicinal product under the conditions of storage is 1 year from the date of manufacture.

It is prohibited to use Wolfazol after the expiration date.

4. Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer’s closed packaging away from heating appliances, separate from food and feedstuffs, in a dry, protected from light place at a temperature of 5oC to 25oC.

5. Keep Wolfazole out of the reach of children.

6. The product is disposed of t in accordance with the requirements of legislation.

II. Pharmacological properties

7. Pharmacotherapeutic group of the drug: a combined antiparasitic and antimicrobial agent that promote healing (scarring) of wounds.

Chlorophos is highly effective against all stages of Wohlfahrtia magnifica larvae (wolfartic fly), on which it has systemic and contact action, as well as adult insects.

Ethyl acetate has an insecticidal effect.

Erythromycin is a bacteriostatic antibiotic from the macrolide group. With external application has antibacterial effect. As part of the drug prevents the development of the wound in the infectious process.

Tar birch has antiseptic, keratoplastic, keratolytic, anti-inflammatory properties; improves blood supply of tissues, moderately irritates sensitive nerve endings, thereby stimulating the regeneration of the epidermis of damaged skin, and also drying up wounds and accelerating their healing.

The film-forming component forms a transparent film on the surface of the wound, which lasts for 8-10 days.

The use of the preparation in the form of an aerosol foam provides better enveloping of the edges of the wound and the affected areas. After application of aerosol foam on the wound surface, an elastic, water-resistant film is formed, and the components of the preparation prevent the development of invasion and ensure rapid healing of wounds affected by wolfarm infestation.

Drug in terms of the degree of exposure to the body refers to hazardous substances (hazard class 2 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).

III. The order of application

8. Wolphazole is applied externally for sheep skin injuries at the time of shearing, castration, tail amputation and other surgical operations and accidental traumas in the summer for the prevention and treatment of wolfarthosis. The drug is also used for the prevention and treatment of tungstiosis in other species of domestic animals.

9. Contraindication to use is the individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.

10. Before applying the drug in case of severe bleeding it is necessary to stop it.

Thoroughly shake the can and apply the drug, keeping the balloon vertically at a distance of 15-20 cm from the wound. The duration of wound treatment is 1-5 seconds, depending on its area and the condition of the wound surface.

Aerosol foam is applied to fresh, as well as invasive wolfarm fly wounds, without clearing them and removing larvae. Treatment of wounds is carried out once, and poorly and slowly healing wounds – twice with an interval of 5-8 days.

11. Symptoms of overdose with the use of the drug is not established.

12. The first use of the drug may cause allergic reactions in animals with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug. In this case, the use of the drug is stopped and symptomatic treatment with the appointment of antihistamines.

13. In case of missing the next treatment, it is recommended to hold it as soon as possible.

14. Side effects: local allergic reactions are possible.

15. Wolfazole does not exclude the use of other drugs.

16. Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 10 days after the last application of Wolfazol. The meat of animals that were forced to die before the expiration of this period can be used for feeding carnivores. Milk is allowed to be used for food not earlier than 5 days after the last treatment.

IV. Personal prevention measures

17. When working with a medicinal product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions prescribed in dealing with medicinal products should be observed.

18. Do not drink, smoke or eat while working with Wolfazole. After working with the drug, wash your hands with soap and water.

19. In case of contact with skin and mucous membranes, rinse with plenty of tap water. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with the drug. In case of allergic reactions and / or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (with you to have instructions for the use of the drug or a label).
