IODINOL

 

INSTRUCTIONS

of using Iodinol as an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent for animals

(organization-developer:  “BioKhimPharm”, Raduzhny, Vladimir region).

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

The name of the medicine: Iodinolum.

International non-proprietary name: none.

Iodinol – medicament in the form of a solution containing 1000 cm³ as active substance 1.0 g of iodine, 3.0 g of potassium iodide, 9.0 g of polyvinyl alcohol and as a solvent water to 1 liter

Releasing prepackaged Iodinol 100, 200, 400, 500, 1000 ml in sterile sealed glass vials, sealed with rubber stoppers and aluminum kolpachkami.Kazhduyu run-in mark indicating packaging of the manufacturer, its address and the trademark, the name of the drug, the name and content of the active ingredients, serial number, date of manufacture and expiration date (month, year), storage conditions, quantity in the vial, “Sterile”, “For animals”, TU designations and instructions for use eniyu.

The shelf life of Iodinol under storage conditions is 3 years from the date of manufacture.

Iodinol is stored in the packaging of the manufacturer’s organization, in a dry place protected from light, inaccessible to children, at temperatures from 00C to 30 0C.

The drug is stored in places inaccessible to children.

Do not use the medication after the expiration date.

2. PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Pharmacotherapeutic group of medicinal product: antiseptic. Pharmacological properties of the drug Iodinol due to its constituent active ingredients iodine, potassium iodide and polyvinyl alcohol.

Iodine containing antiseptic. The main active substance is iodine, which possesses an antiseptic property. When applied to large areas of the skin, iodine has a resorptive effect: it actively affects the metabolism, intensifies dissimilation processes, participates in the synthesis of thyroxine, and has a proteolytic effect.

Polyvinyl alcohol is a high-molecular compound whose content in iodinol slows the release of iodine and prolongs its interaction with the tissues of the body; reduces also the irritating effect of iodine on the tissue.

Iodine has a bactericidal effect on both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (most active at flora streptococcal and E. coli) as well as on pathogenic fungi and yeast. A more stable flora is staphylococcus, but with prolonged use of the drug in 80% of cases, staphylococcal flora is suppressed.

3. APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The preparation is prescribed for gastro-intestinal diseases, enterocolitis, gastroenteritis, dyspepsia young farm and domestic animals and birds, as well as in the treatment of infected skin wounds, pyoderma, for washing the nose, pharynx, as well as vaginitis, cervicitis, endometritis, etc..

Contraindications for use is the individual intolerance of the drug components.

Iodinol is given to animals in pure form or diluted with boiled water, saline or milk (immediately before use) in a ratio of 1: 2 – 1: 5.

For the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, iodinol is administered orally at a rate of 1.0-1.5 ml / kg of animal body weight (pure drug) 2 times a day for 3-4 days.

With the preventive purpose for dyspepsia, iodinol is used in the same doses as for treatment, but once a day.

For the treatment of chickens at alimentary gastrointestinal diseases iodinol give a proportion of 0.2 – 0.3 ml per chick with a small amount of water once a day (preferably in the morning for 20-30 minutes before feeding) for 10 – 15 days .

In balantidiosis, pigs of 4-6 months of age receive 20-35 ml of the drug twice a day for 7-10 consecutive days with a small amount of water or with food.

For the treatment of uterine diseases, iodinol (in pure form or in dilution with an equal amount of saline solution) is administered into the uterus cavity at 75-100 ml 3-4 times at intervals of 24 hours.

With catarrhal and catarrhal purulent vestibulites and vaginitis, the mucous membrane of the vagina is irrigated with 50-100 ml of iodinol once a day.

In recommended doses, iodinol does not cause side effects and complications in animals.

The use of Iodinol does not exclude the use of other drugs.

Livestock products during and after application of Iodinol are used without restrictions.

4. MEASURES OF PERSONAL PROPHYLAXIS

When working with iodinol, general safety requirements for working with animal medicines should be observed.
