INSTRUCTION
on the use Of tylosin BHF 200 in veterinary medicine

I. General information

1. Trade name of the drug: Tylosin BHF 200.

International nonproprietary name: tylosin.

2. Dosage form: solution for injection.

Tylosin BHF 200 as the active ingredient in 1 ml contains 200 mg of tylosin in the form of a base.

3. In appearance, the drug is a transparent liquid, yellow, without visible mechanical inclusions

Shelf life of the drug under storage conditions-2 years from the date of production, after opening the bottle – for 28 days. Do not use Tylosin BHF 200 after its expiration date.

4. Tylosin BHF 200 is produced packaged in 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 ml in glass or polymer bottles.

5. Store the drug in the closed packaging of the manufacturer away from heating devices, separately from food and feed, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight at a temperature of 5°C to 25°C.

6. Tylosin BHF 200 should be stored out of the reach of children.

7. Unused product with expired shelf life is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.

II. Pharmacological properties

9. Pharmacotherapeutic group of the drug: an antibiotic from the group of macrolides.

10. Tylosin BHF 200 is active against most gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria, including streptococci, Leptospira, corynebacteria, Clostridium, erisipelotrix, Pasteurella, chlamydia, Treponema and Mycoplasma.

The mechanism of action is to disrupt protein synthesis in sensitive microbial cells.

When administered intramuscularly, the drug resorbs quickly and reaches maximum concentrations in the tissues of the body about 1 hour after administration.  The therapeutic level of the antibiotic in the tissues remains at least 20 no.

The drug is excreted mainly in the urine and milk.

According to the degree of exposure to the body Tylosin BHF 200 by the degree of exposure to the body refers to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007).

III. The order of application

11. The drug is used as a therapeutic agent for bronchopneumonia of cattle and small cattle, horses, camels, pigs; dogs and cats; mastitis of cattle; enzootic pneumonia, arthritis, dysentery, bordetelez and erysipelas of pigs, infectious agalactia of sheep and goats, as well as other primary and secondary (viral diseases) bacterial infections, pathogens which are sensitive to tylosin.

12. Contraindications: it is not recommended to use the drug simultaneously with penicillin (especially ampicillin and oxacillin), cephalosporins and lincomycin due to a marked decrease in the antibacterial effect of tylosin, as well as hypersensitivity to the constituent parts of the drug.

13. The drug is administered intramuscularly once a day for 3-5 days in the following doses: cattle, horses, camels – 0,025 – 0,05 ml/kg live weight, pigs – 0,05 ml/kg live weight, sheep and goats – 0,05 – 0,06 ml/kg live weight, dogs and cats – 0,025 – 0,05 ml/kg live weight.

14. Symptoms of overdose in animals are not revealed.

15. The specific effects of the medicinal product at first use or withdrawal thereof: not applicable.

16. The use of Tylosin BHF 200 does not have a negative effect on pregnancy, lactation and development of offspring in animals.

17. You should avoid skipping the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy.

18. When using Tylosin BHF 200 in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are usually not observed. Very rarely are possible allergic reaction have pigs in the form of erythema, itching, respiratory phenomena, which quickly pass after ending the use of drug.

With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the development of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is stopped and desensitizing therapy is carried out.

19. Tylosin BHF 200 should not be mixed in the same syringe with other drugs, and can not be used simultaneously with bacteriostatic chemotherapy drugs.

20. Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed after 8 days after discontinuation of the drug.  Meat from animals slaughtered before the expiration of the term, can be used to feed carnivorous animals. Milk obtained from animals during treatment with the drug and before the expiration of 4 days after the last administration of the drug, it is forbidden to use for food purposes. Such milk can be used for feeding animals.

IV. Personal prevention measures

21. When working with the drug, the General rules of personal hygiene and safety, provided for when working with drugs, should be observed.

22. When working with Tylosin BHF 200 it is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. Avoid contact with the skin and mucous membranes. After working with the drug, wash your hands with soap and water. Empty bottles of the drug may not be used for household purposes.

23. In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes, immediately wash them with plenty of water. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingress of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have the instructions for use of the drug and the label).
