9. Ophthalmol is a complex drug that has a bactericidal, anti-inflammatory, nematodocidal, acaricidal, insecticidal and repellent effect.

10. Ivermectin belongs to the chemical group of macrocyclic lactones and has a wide spectrum of antiparasitic action. It is active against gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematodes, lice, Ixodes and scabies mites, hypodermic and nasopharyngeal gadfly larvae, carrion flies, etc. The mechanism of action ivermectina based on paralysis of the muscles of the parasite due to increased allocation and binding of γ-aminobutyric acid involved in the transmission of impulses in the neuromuscular synapses of the parasite, leading to disruption of sodium channels, which causes the death of Mature and larval stages of the parasite. Ivermectin also has an anti-inflammatory effect by suppressing the production of Pro-inflammatory cytokines induced by lipopolysaccharides. Pharmacokinetic parameters are characterized by rapid distribution in the body and long-term elimination, which provides a permanent parasitocidal effect for 12-14 days. Ivermectin slowly and in a limited amount penetrates into the environment of the eye. The half-life is 28 hours.

Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic. Active against most gram – positive and some gram – negative bacteria: staphylococci (Sta-phylococcus spp.), streptococci (Streptococcus spp.), Corynebacterium (Corynebacterium spp.), Clostridium (Clostridium spp.), Pasteurella (Pasteurella spp.), Erysipelothrix (Erysi-pelothrix rhusiopathiae), fusobacteria (Fusobacterium spp.), Leptospira (Leptospira spp.), chlamydia (chlamidia spp.), serpulina hyodysenleriae, as well as Mycoplasma (Mycoplasma spp.), actinomycetes (actinomycespyogenes) and some others. The mechanism of action of the drug is based on the inhibition of protein synthesis in the microbial cell, by blocking the translocase enzyme.
Xeroform is a bismuth salt and together with an antibiotic suppresses the second infection, as well as accelerates the healing and regeneration of damaged tissues, shows repellent, disinfecting, astringent and drying effects.

According to the degree of exposure to the body, the drug Ophthalmol belongs to low-hazard chemicals (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12. 1. 007).

III. Application procedure

– treatment of cattle, dogs, cats, rabbits for ophthalmic diseases of parasitic and bacterial etiology: telyaziosis, blepharitis (scaly and ulcerative), conjunctivitis (acute catarrhal, purulent, follicular), keratitis (superficial), kerato-conjunctivitis of infectious (rickettsiosis) and associative invasive-infectious (telyaziozno-microbial) etiology;

– treatment of dogs, cats and rabbits with otitis media of parasitic etiology (external ear-auricle, external auditory canal, middle ear): notoedres, otodectosis in, psoroptosis, the sarcoptic mange, chorioptes, cheilitis.

Preparations from ivermectin are toxic to collie, sheltie, Bobtail and their crossbreeds; they cause paralytic phenomena, which is associated with the encoding of the P-glycoprotein gene, which is responsible for the elimination of medications.

13. In case of increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the development of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and desensitizing therapy is performed.

14. the use of Ophthalmol does not adversely affect the course of pregnancy, lactation and development of offspring in animals.

The course of treatment is 3-4 days, until full recovery. In case of inflammation of the eyelids, their edges are cleaned of scales and smeared with gel using a tampon.

For the treatment of other ophthalmic diseases, apply 5-7 drops of the drug to the inner corner of the eye, the course is 4-7 applications every 12 hours. If blepharitis is caused by ticks, the course of treatment is repeated 2-3 times in 10 days, regardless of the results of the first treatment.

For otitis media, pre-cut the hair in the animal’s ear, remove the scales and use a tampon to apply gel to the affected areas of the skin 2 times a day. Treatment is carried out 3-4 days before full recovery. Both ears are treated at the same time. If the disease is caused by ticks, the treatment is repeated after 8-10 days during the day.
