INSTRUCTIONS
of using Tetrazol as an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and wound-healing agent
(Organization-development: “BioKhimPharm”, Raduzhny, Vladimir region).
I. General information
1. Trade name of the preparation: Tetrazolum.
International non-proprietary name: oxytetracycline hydrochloride.
2. Dosage form: suspension for external use in aerosol containers. The drug as an active substance contains oxytetracycline hydrochloride, as well as auxiliary substances.
Tetrazol is put into aerosol cans of 100, 170 ml, a spray of 30-100 cm3 with spray heads and protective caps.
3. Each unit of packaging is marked with the name of the manufacturer, its address and trademark, the name of the medicinal product, the name and content of the active substance, the method of application, the serial number and date of manufacture, the expiration date, the volume in the cylinder, storage conditions, the inscription “For veterinary application “, designations of technical conditions, state registration numbers, information on certification and accompany the instruction for use.
Shelf life under storage conditions is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
Do not use Tetrazole after the expiration date.
4. Tetrazole is stored in the packaging of the manufacturer in a dry place protected from direct sunlight at a temperature of 5 ° C to 25 ° C, far from heating appliances.
5.Tetrazole should be stored in places inaccessible to children.
6. Unused medicinal product with expired shelf life shall be disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
II. Pharmacological properties
7. Pharmacotherapeutic group of the drug: belongs to the group of antibacterial drugs of the tetracycline group.
Oxytetracycline, the active substance of the drug, has a wide spectrum of action against many types of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria that cause skin infections, including Fusobacterium necroforum.
The mechanism of bacteriostatic action of oxytetracycline is based on suppression of protein synthesis in a microbial cell at the ribosomal level. With external application, the drug is not adsorbed. Due to the specially developed solvent the preparation is firmly fixed on the treated surface.
Tetrazole is classified as a low-hazard substance by the degree of exposure to the body (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007).
III. APPLICATION PROCEDURE
8. Tetrazole is applied externally independently or as a part of complex therapy to cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, dogs, cats, rabbits for treatment:
– wounds of traumatic etiology;
– surgical wounds (castration, caesarean section, degreasing, cupping of tails, ears, etc.)
– abrasions, scratches, puncture wounds, etc .;
– udder injuries during mechanical milking and other injuries;
– Necrobacteriosis of cattle, sheep and goats;
– bacterial infections, parasitic dermatitis, complicated by bacterial infection;
– Diseases of the skin, hooves and intercostal cracks;
9. The medicinal preparation is forbidden to apply to animals with individual hypersensitivity to the antibiotic-tetracycline group.
10. Before applying the drug, it is recommended to clean the surface to be treated from pus, wound exudate, necrotic tissues, and remove wool.
Before use, the preparation should be shaken well and sprayed from a distance of 18-20 cm from the affected area within 2-3 seconds. If necessary, re-treatment is carried out every 7 days until complete cure, but no more than 4 times. In cases of deep and infected wounds, local treatment is recommended to be combined with complex therapy.
The amount of nebulized drug is determined based on the area of the lesion.
11. Symptoms of overdose are not established.
12. The characteristics of the action during the first application and removal of tetrazole are not revealed. In case of allergic reactions, use of the drug is stopped and antihistamines or other symptomatic treatment is prescribed
13. In case of missing one dose, the treatment course should be resumed in the dosages prescribed and the scheme of application.
14. When Tetrasol is used in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications are usually not noted.
15. The use of tetrazole does not exclude the use of other drugs of specific and symptomatic therapy.
16. Slaughter animals during the period of application of the drug is carried out without restrictions.
IV. Personal prevention measures
17. When working with the drug, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety techniques provided for working with veterinary medicinal products.
18. When working with the drug, it is forbidden to drink, smoke, eat. After the work is finished, wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with Tetrasol.
19. If the medicinal product is accidentally contacted with skin or mucous membranes, they should be rinsed with plenty of water. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (with you to have instructions for the use of the drug or a label).
