INSTRUCTIONS
of using Glucate in veterinary medicine as a general restorative, tonic and expectorant
(Organization – developer: “BioKhimPharm” in Raduzhny, Vladimir region).
I. General information
1. Trade name of the medicinal product: Gluket.
International non-proprietary name: glucose, ethyl alcohol, ascorbic acid, camphor.
2. Dosage form: solution for injection.
In appearance, the preparation is a clear liquid with a yellowish tinge.
Glucate contains 1 mg of glucose as active ingredients, 0.15 ml of ethyl alcohol, 5 mg of ascorbic acid, 1 mg of camphor and 1 ml of water for injection.
3. The preparation is issued in the form of packaged in glass bottles of appropriate capacity, hermetically sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced aluminum caps. Shelf life of the medicinal product under the conditions of storage in a sealed package is 5 years from the date of manufacture.
It is forbidden to use Gluket after the expiration date.
4. The drug is stored in a sealed manufacturer’s packaging in a dry, protected from light place, at temperatures from 0ºC to 25ºC.
5. Glucate should be stored in places inaccessible to children.
6. Dispose of the drug in accordance with applicable law.
II. Pharmacological properties
7. Pharmacological group of medicinal product: tonic and restorative.
Glucate, which is a solution of camphor, glucose, ethyl alcohol and ascorbic acid in water in effective proportions, increases osmotic blood pressure, activates metabolic processes in tissues, enhances the contractile capacity of the heart muscle, dilates blood vessels, improves the antitoxic function of the liver, stimulates the the central nervous system.
Glucate in terms of the degree of exposure to the body belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
III. The order of application
8. Glucate is used in veterinary medicine as a restorative and tonic, with central nervous system depression, blood loss and dehydration, dyspepsia and bronchopneumonia in young animals, infections and intoxications, as an antipyretic and expectorant.
9. Contraindicated the use of the drug to animals before slaughter and milking animals, tk. meat and milk for a long time retains the specific smell of camphor. It is not recommended to prescribe the drug at the maximum dose (1 ml / kg) to young animals, tk. they are much more sensitive to camphor than adults.
10. The drug is administered intravenously intravenously once a day at a dose of 0.5-1 ml per kg of animal weight until recovery.
11. Symptoms of overdose, while observing the order of application of the drug, are not noted.
12. Features of the drug during its first use is not established.
13. Passage of the next dose of the drug should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic effectiveness. In the case of missing one dose, the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same schedule.
15. Glucate is a symptomatic remedy that blends well with specific therapies.
16. It is not recommended to use the meat of the animals that have been killed for human consumption earlier than one day after the last use of the drug, as it acquires an unpleasant smell. It can be used in fodder for fur animals or for the production of meat-bone meal.
IV. Personal prevention measures
17. When working with Gluket, you should observe the general rules of personal hygiene and safety, provided for when working with medications.
18. When working with Gluket it is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. After working with the drug, wash your hands with soap and water.
19. In case of contact with skin and mucous membranes, rinse with plenty of tap water.
People with hypersensitivity to Glucate components should avoid direct contact with the drug. In case of allergic reactions and / or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution.
