INSTRUCTIONS
of using Glucose 5%, 10%, 25%, 40% solution for injection during dehydration and intoxication of animals

I. General information
1. Trade name of the drug: Glucose 5%, 10%, 25% and 40% solution for injection (Glucosi 5%, 10%, 25%, 40% solutio pro injectionibus).
International non-proprietary name: glucose, dextrose.
2. Dosage form: solution for injection.
Glucose 5%, 10%, 25% and 40% solution for injection as active ingredient in 1 ml contains respectively 50, 100, 250 or 400 mg of crystalline medical glucose or crystalline hydrate glucose, as well as auxiliary components: sodium chloride-0, 26 mg, hydrochloric acid (for pH correction) and water for injection – up to 1 ml.
3. Glucose is produced 5%, 10%, 25%, 40% solution for injections in glass bottles and bottles of appropriate capacity, sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced aluminum caps.
4. Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer’s closed container in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separate from food and feed, at temperatures from 0 ° C to 25 ° C.
Shelf life of the drug under the storage conditions is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
It is forbidden to use the product after the expiration date.
5. Glucose 5%, 10%, 25%, 40% solution for injection should be stored out of the reach of children.
6. Dispose of unused medicinal product in accordance with legal requirements.
II. Pharmacological properties
7. Glucose 5%, 10%, 25% and 40% solution for injection refers to drugs that affect carbohydrate metabolism.
Isotonic 5% glucose solution is used to replenish the body with a liquid and easily digestible carbohydrate. In tissues, glucose breaks up with the release of energy.
Hypertensive 10%, 25%, 40% glucose solutions increase osmotic blood pressure, improve metabolism, antitoxic liver function and heart function, dilate blood vessels, increase diuresis. Glucose stimulates the synthesis of hormones and enzymes, increases the protective forces of the animal body.
After administration, the drug is quickly distributed in the organs and tissues of the animal.
Glucose 5%, 10%, 25%, 40% solution for injection by the degree of exposure to the body is classified as low-hazard (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
III. The order of application
8. Glucose 5%, 10%, 25%, 40% solution for injection is administered to animals with large losses of body fluids (bleeding, toxic indigestion), shock phenomena, intoxications, and to dissolve drugs.
9. Contraindication to the use of Glucose 5%, 10%, 25%, 40% solution for injection is hyperglycemia, hyperhydration, hyperosmolar coma, diabetes mellitus.
10. Glucose 5% solution for injection is administered subcutaneously or intravenously; Glucose 10%, 25%, 40% solution for injection – only intravenously.
