Ceftriaxone belongs to the second generation of cephalosporin antibiotics and has a broad spectrum of bactericidal action against actinomycetes, gram-positive and some gram-negative bacteria, including Staphylococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Proteus mirabilis. Ceftriaxone interferes with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, inhibits the enzymes of transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase and causes a violation of the osmotic balance, which leads to the death of the bacteria at the growth stage. The antibiotic is resistant to the enzyme penicillinase and retains its activity in anaerobic and aerobic conditions. With intrauterine use of Ceftriaxone from the dosage form easily penetrates into the endometrial tissue, where it provides a minimum inhibitory concentration for 24 hours.
Prednisolone has anti-inflammatory and mild analgesic effect.
The consistency of the dosage form of the drug contributes to its uniform distribution over the mucous membrane of the affected organ, the transport of active components to the pathological focus and the maximum contact of active components with the lesion.
