INSTRUCTIONS
of using Calcium borgluconate for the prevention and treatment of postpartum paresis, osteomalacia, rickets, allergic diseases and intoxication of animals

1. General information
1. Trade name of the medicinal product: Calcii borоgluconas.
International nonproprietary name: calcium borgluconate.
2. Dosage form – injection solution. The medicinal preparation in 100 ml contains, as active substances, calcium gluconate – 20.0 g, boric acid – 1.85 g, sodium tetraborate (or sodium tetraborate 10-water) – 1.3 g, and as an auxiliary water for injection – up to 100 ml. In appearance, the preparation is a clear, colorless or pale yellow liquid.
Calcium borgluconate is released in glass bottles, corked with rubber stoppers, reinforced aluminum caps.
3. Store the preparation in the manufacturer’s closed container in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 50C to 250C. During transport, a short-term freeze of the preparation is allowed, provided the vial is intact.
4. Shelf life of the medicinal product under the conditions of storage in closed packaging – 2 years from the date of manufacture, after opening the bottle – 6 hours. It is forbidden to use Calcium borgluconate after the expiry date.
5. Calcium borgluconate should be stored out of the reach of children.
6. Dispose of unused product in accordance with legal requirements.
II. Pharmacological properties
7. Calcium borgluconate refers to drugs containing calcium.
Active ingredients in the preparation have antitoxic, desensitizing and anti-inflammatory effect, increase the level of ionized calcium in the blood, stimulate metabolism, increase the contraction of the heart muscle.
After parenteral administration, the drug is rapidly absorbed from the injection site and distributed in the organs and tissues of the animal.
By the degree of effect on the body, Calcium borgluconate according to GOST 12.1.007-76 refers to substances of low hazard (hazard class 4).
III. The order of application
8. Calcium borgluconate is used in animals for complex therapy and prevention of the following diseases:
– Postpartum paresis, spasmophilia, eclampsia, rickets, tetany, osteomalacia, shock state, transport disease;
– delayed afterbirth, prenatal and postnatal;
– Allergic diseases;
– poisoning with magnesium salts, toxic liver damage.
9. Contraindication to the use of calcium borgluconate animal is hypercalcemia. Do not administer the drug intramuscularly, as this can cause irritation and tissue necrosis.
10. Calcium borgluconate, heated to a temperature of 35-370C, is administered to animals subcutaneously or intravenously (slowly) at a rate of 0.5 ml / kg of body weight. With subcutaneous administration of a large volume of the drug, the solution is administered fractionally in several places.
Calcium borgluconate is administered to the animals once, if necessary – again after 24 hours. The maximum single doses of the drug are shown in the table.

11. When an overdose of the drug in an animal, hypercalcemia may develop. To eliminate it, enter calcitonin dissolved in physiological solution in accordance with the instructions for use.
12. Features of the drug during its first use and cancellation is not established.
13. Failure to comply with the recommended interval with repeated administration of the drug may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. If you skip the next dose of the drug, its use is resumed as soon as possible in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.
14. Adverse events and complications in the use of the drug in accordance with this instruction, as a rule, is not observed. In rare cases with rapid intravenous administration of the drug in the animal, the occurrence of ventricular fibrillation and slowing of the pulse may occur. These symptoms are brief and disappear spontaneously.
15. The use of calcium borgluconate does not exclude the use of other drugs and feed additives.
16. Animal products derived from animals after the application of Calcium borgluconate can be used without restrictions.
IV.Meres of personal prophylaxis
17. When working with Calcium borgluconate, you should observe the general rules of personal hygiene and safety, provided for when working with medicines.
18. When working with the drug, it is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. After working with the drug, wash your hands with soap and water.
If you accidentally get the drug on the skin or mucous membranes, you should immediately wash it off with running water and soap. In case of allergic reactions, you should immediately contact a medical institution (with you to have instructions for the use of the drug or a label).
19. It is prohibited to use empty containers for household purposes; it must be disposed of with household waste.
