INSTRUCTIONS of using Rognet for the prevention

growth of horns in young cattle and small cattle

(Production organization: BioKhimPharm, Vladimir Region, Raduzhny)

I. General information

1. Paste “Rognet” – a paste for external use, to prevent the growth of horns in young cattle and small cattle.

2. Paste “Rognet” as active ingredients contains sodium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, and as auxiliary substances: Celite 545, dye, plasticizer, distilled water.

3. In appearance, the paste is a homogeneous mass of yellow color, mixed with water in any proportions.

4. Paste “Rognet” is produced packaged in 20-200g in polymer cans of appropriate capacity with hermetically sealed caps.

Each bank is marked with the indication of: the manufacturer’s organization, its address and trademark, name, mass of the medicinal product in the bank, serial number, date of manufacture, expiry date.

Store the product in the manufacturer’s closed packaging strictly in an upright position, in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, away from food and feed, at temperatures from 0 C to 25 C.

Shelf life under storage conditions is 2 years from the date of manufacture.

After the expiration date, the paste for external application “Rognet” should not be used.

II. Pharmacological properties

5. Sodium hydroxide and calcium hydroxide, which are part of the product, have a strong local cauterizing effect.

When used under the action of alkalis, protein coagulation takes place and the horn growth point is damaged, up to its destruction, which leads to complete cessation of horn growth in young and large cattle.

6. Paste for external application “Rognet” according to the degree of exposure to the body belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), does not have a resorptive-toxic effect in recommended doses, but has a strong local irritant effect and causes alkaline burn of mucous membranes.

III. The order of application

7. Pasta for external use “Rognet” is used by young cattle and small cattle to prevent the growth of horns.

8. Before the application of the remedy, the animals are first removed from the hair at the places where the horny tubercle is probed, and then a paste is applied with a thin layer for external application of “Rognet” to the top of the tubercle and the surface of the skin around it.

Young animals at the age of 7 to 30 days, the drug is applied so that the diameter of the treated surface is not more than 20 -24 mm.

Animals older than 6-8 weeks, whose horns are longer than 0.5 mm, clean the hair from the horns at a distance of 10 mm from the base of the horn, then apply a thin layer of paste to the top of the horn and a thicker layer around the base of the horn.

9. Treat animals in a well-ventilated area. If used, prevent paste from entering the eyes of the animals.

10. Side effects and complications when using the product in animals in accordance with this instruction is not observed.

11. Meat of animals during and after the application of the paste “Rognet” is allowed to be used for food purposes without restrictions.

IV. Personal prevention measures

12. When working with paste for external application “Rognet” you must follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety.

13. If the paste gets on the mucous membranes, immediately wash it off under a strong stream of water, and if it gets on the skin, rinse it off with a weak solution of acetic acid.

14. It is prohibited to use empty containers for medicinal products for domestic purposes.

15. Paste “Rognet” should be stored in places inaccessible to children.
