of using “Trisulfox” for the treatment of infectious diseases of animals and poultry of bacterial and mycoplasmal etiology

(organization-developer: “BioKhimPharm”, Raduzhny, Vladimir region).

I. General information

1. The trade name of the medicinal product is Trisulfox. International non-proprietary name: sulfadimethoxin, tetracycline, trimethoprim.

2. Dosage form: solution for injection and oral administration. In appearance, the preparation is a viscous liquid of light brown color. Trisulfox as active substances contains sulfadimethoxin, tetracycline and trimethoprim. Produce Trisulfox prepacked in 10 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml in glass vials of appropriate capacity, hermetically sealed with rubber stoppers, reinforced aluminum caps.

3. Shelf life of the medicinal product under the conditions of storage in a closed package – 2 years from the date of manufacture, after opening the bottle – no more than 28 days. It is forbidden to use the drug after the expiration date. 4. Trisulfox is stored in the manufacturer’s closed container in a dry, dark place at a temperature of 5 ° C to 25 ° C. When storing Trisulfox, gelling may occur, which does not affect the effectiveness of the drug. In such cases, before use, it is advisable to warm the vial with the preparation carefully in a water bath (45 ° C-50 ° C) until the physiological state of the solution is completely restored.

5. Trisulphox should be stored out of the reach of children.

6. Dispose of unused product with expired shelf life in accordance with legal requirements.

II. Pharmacological properties.

7. Pharmacotherapeutic group: antimicrobial drugs in combination Sulfadimethoxin and trimethoprim, which are part of the preparation, individually act on the microbial cell bacteriostatically, and together exhibit synergism of action, ie, enhance the action of each other. The bactericidal action of Trisulfox is due to the sequential blockade of enzymes in the microbial cell: sulfamethazine disrupts the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid, and trimethoprim blocks the next stage of the metabolism of the bacteria – the reduction of dihydrofolic acid into tetrahydrofolic acid, which is necessary for the development of microorganisms. The drug has a wide spectrum of action against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, including Clostridium spp., E. Coli, Salmonella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp, Proteus mirabilis, Streptococcus spp. Antibacterial components of zinaprima are well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and quickly distributed to all organs and tissues of the body. Tetracycline hydrochloride is a bacteriostatic antibiotic of the group of tetracyclines of a wide spectrum of action. Acts due to the inhibition of protein synthesis due to blocking the binding of aminoacyl-transport RNA (tRNA) to the “information RNA (mRNA) -bibosome” complex. It is active against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus spp., Including penicillinase-producing Streptococcus spp., Including Streptococcus pneumoniae); Haemophilus influenzae, Listeria spp., Bacillus anthracis) and Gram-negative microorganisms (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Bordetella pertussis, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp.), And Ricketsia spp., Chlamydia spp., Mycoplasma spp., Treponema spp. Resistant to the drug: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp., Serratia spp., Most strains of Bacteroides spp. and fungi, small viruses. Excreted from the body mainly with urine. Sulfadimethoxin and trimethoprim are excreted from the body predominantly with urine and, to a lesser extent, bile. Trisulfox on effects on the body refers to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses is well tolerated by animals, does not have embryotoxic, teratogenic and hepatotoxic properties.

III. The order of application

8. Trisulfox is intended for treatment of bacterial diseases of cattle, horses, camels, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, cats, rabbits and poultry (chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, quails, pigeons) localized in the gastrointestinal tract , respiratory tract, urogenital system caused by microorganisms sensitive to the combination of sulfadimezin-tetracycline-trimethoprim.

9. Contraindication to the use of the drug is the individual hypersensitivity to its components. It should be used with caution in animals with renal and hepatic insufficiency.

10. Injections of Trisulfox are administered to animals at intervals of 12-24 hours by intramuscular injection for 3-5 consecutive days in the following doses: large cattle, horses, camels – 20-30 ml per animal, calves 5-10 ml per animal, pigs, sheep, small animals 1 ml for 5 – 10 kg of animal weight. The maximum volume of the drug for administration to an animal in one place should not exceed 20 ml. Orally Trisulfox is used once a day: cattle, horses, camels, sheep, goats and small animals at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of body weight for 3-5 days. It is possible to use Trisulfox with water at the rate of 750 ml per 1000 liters of drinking water. The first day is recommended to enter a therapeutic dose twice with an interval of 12 hours. Poultry and rabbits Trisulfox is used in a dose of 1 ml per liter of drinking water on the first day, in the next 2 to 3 days the daily dose is 0.5 ml per 1 liter of drinking water. During the treatment period, the bird should receive only water containing Trisulfox.

11. Symptoms of overdose when using the drug in accordance with this instruction is not established.

12. Features of the drug at the beginning of the application or when it was abolished is not revealed.

13. Passage of the next dose of the drug should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic effectiveness. In the case of missing one or more doses, the drug is resumed as soon as possible in the same dosage and according to the same schedule.

14. No recommended doses are observed. With an increase in the duration of use, the occurrence of vomiting, diarrhea, and crystalluria may occur.

15. The use of Trisulfox does not exclude the use of other drugs.

16. Slaughter for meat is allowed 5 days after the last use of the drug. The meat of animals that were forced to die before the expiration of this period can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals or for the production of meat-bone meal. It is forbidden to use for food purposes milk received from animals during the treatment with the drug and within 4 days after discontinuation of the drug.
