INSTRUCTIONS
of using “Jodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds “as an antiseptic, wound-healing, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory agent for animals
(Organization-developer: “BioKhimPharm”, Raduzhny Vladimir region).
I. General information
1. Trade name of the medicinal product: “Jodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds (“Jodogel” emulsio, quia curatio vulnera infectum).International non-proprietary name: iodine, bismuth.
2. Dosage form: gel. The preparation as an active substance contains the product of interaction of iodide salts of bismuth and streptocid in a medium of polymerizing substances.
3. The preparation is a homogeneous viscous mass of a gel-like consistence of bright orange color, with a weak specific odor. Miscible in any proportion with water and glycerin, forming a stable suspension. Shelf life of the drug under the storage conditions – 2 years from the date of manufacture. It is prohibited to use the “Iodogel” emulsion to treat infected wounds after the expiration date.
4. Yodogel is emulsified for the treatment of infected wounds in 250 ml tubes or bottles of 30 ml, 100 ml, 250 ml, 500 ml and 1000 ml, dispensing syringes with protective caps – 30 ml each, and dispensing syringes with protective caps – 10 ml each.
Each package is marked in Russian with the indication: the manufacturer’s organization, its address and trademark, the name, purpose, method of application and volume of the medicinal product in the vial, the name and content of the active substance, the inscription “For veterinary use”, “Shake before use” , serial number, date of manufacture, expiry date, storage conditions, state registration number, information on compliance confirmation and provide instructions for use.
5. The drug is stored in the manufacturer’s closed packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight at a temperature of 2 ° C to 20 ° C. Transportation is allowed at temperatures above 20 ° C.
6. “Iodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds should be stored in places inaccessible to children.
7. Dispose of unused product with expired shelf life in accordance with legal requirements.

II. Pharmacological properties
9. Pharmacotherapeutic group of medicinal product: antimicrobials for topical application.
10. Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. The drug has bacteriostatic and bactericidal activity against many types of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, moderate anesthetic, as well as emollient effect. In the dosage form, the active ingredient is in the form of an amorphous powder of a high degree of dispersion.
The polymeric synthetic base is an active transporter of the active substance to the focus of inflammation. This allows it to be used transdermally in the lesions of the parenchyma of the breast, muscles, joints, tendon sheaths, etc. After application to the affected areas of the skin, the polymer base dries to form a film that performs protective functions. There is no resistance of microorganisms to Jodogel.
With topical application, the drug is not practically absorbed into the bloodstream.
“Jodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds by the degree of effect on the organism refers to substances of low hazard (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007).
III. The order of application
8. Jodogel is used to treat infected wounds as an antiseptic, wound healing, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory agent in the prevention and treatment of mastitis, endometritis, wound and skin infections of bacterial and fungal etiology in various animal species, arthritis, myositis, tendovaginitis, cracks and wounds of the intercumulus cleft, debridement of the upper layer of the hoof horn, damage to the sole of the hoof and crumb of foreign bodies, infectious laminitis and poddermatitis, ulcers of Rusterholz, necrobacteriosis foot rot.
9. Contraindication to use is increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.
10. Dosing regimen, method of application and duration of treatment.
For prophylaxis of mastitis during the dry period, after milking the cow for the last time, the nipples of the udder are dried dry with a towel or paper napkin, after which the “Iodogel” is evenly coated with an emulsion to treat infected wounds the entire surface of the nipple, consuming 3-4 g of the drug per animal. On the 8th day of the dry period, preventive treatment is repeated.
For the treatment of mastitis in cows, sheep and goats, the drug is applied externally by the method of cutaneous applications. Before applying the preparation, the surface of the affected portion of the udder is cleaned of impurities, washed with clean water, and wiped dry with a towel. The drug is evenly applied to the surface of the affected portion of the udder with a hand or a brush, followed by gentle rubbing. For each share, 20-30 ml of the drug is consumed. Treatment is repeated at intervals of 24 hours until the pathological process is completely eliminated (3-5 times), with subclinical mastitis – three times.
Treatment of mastitis in cows, mares, camels, sheep and goats by intracisternal injection of “Iodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds. Before application, the udder is sanitized, the contents of the diseased portion of the udder are dispensed into a separate bowl and disposed of.
“Iodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds, packaged in syringes-dispensers of 10 ml, heated to 38-40 0C and shaken. The catheter of the dispenser of the dispenser is inserted into the teat canal, the cannula is tightly pressed against the opening of the teat canal, the position is firmly fixed by fingers and the product is smoothly inserted into the breast cistern by a gentle pressure on the piston. The dose of administration to cows, mares and camels is 20 cm³ (contents of two syringes), ewes and goats – 10 cm³ (contents of 1 syringe). After the introduction, lightly massage the nipple of the udder from below upwards.
Treatment is repeated at intervals of 24 hours until the pathological process is completely eliminated (3-5 times), with subclinical mastitis – three times.
Prophylaxis and treatment of endometritis. “Iodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds, packaged in syringes-dispensers of 30 ml, pre-heated to 38-40 ° C and shaken.
With clinically expressed chronic endometrium, a five-minute rectal massage of the uterus is first done to increase its tone and remove exudate. Then a catheter is attached to the syringe by means of a special nozzle, the hand is grasped by the hand through the rectum and cows, mare, camel, sows are injected into the uterine cavity in a dose of 10 ml, sheep to 3-5 ml ml. “Iodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds is administered 3-5 times with an interval between administrations of 24-48 hours.
In wounds, ulcers, eczema, dermatitis, burns, frostbite and other external injuries on fresh superficial wounds, abrasions, cracks, after suturing, ulcers, foci of burns, frostbite, eczema and dermatitis “Jodogel”, an emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds is applied with a thin layer on the affected area 1-2 times a day for 3-5 days.
In purulent diseases of the skin and soft tissues (boils, abscesses, phlegmon) after opening the cavities and removing purulent contents – a swab with the drug is injected into the cavity of the wound.
With arthritis, myositis, tendovaginitis, the surface of the skin to be treated is cleaned of contamination, washed; in the presence of thick hair – shave. “Iodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds by a uniform layer is applied to the skin surface with subsequent easy rubbing of the palm. Process 1-2 times a day until complete recovery (3-7 days).
With necrobacteriosis, hoof rot, purulent wounds impose a loose gauze dressing impregnated with the drug. The treatment is carried out according to the above scheme.
11. The phenomenon of overdose with the application of “Jodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds is not revealed. When administered according to the above recommendations, an overdose is not possible.
12. Features of the action at the beginning of the use of the drug or when it was withdrawn is not revealed.
13. In case of missing the next treatment, it is recommended to hold it as soon as possible.
14. Side effects when using the drug in accordance with this instruction are not established.
15. The use of “Iodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds does not exclude the use of other drugs and feed additives.
16. Slaughtering of animals for meat and use of milk for food purposes during and after application of the drug is carried out without restrictions on general grounds.
IV. Personal prevention measures
17. When working with “Jodogel” emulsion for the treatment of infected wounds, you should observe the general rules of personal hygiene and safety, provided when working with medications.
18. When working with the drug, it is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. After working with the drug, wash your hands with soap and water. Empty containers from the preparation are forbidden to use for household purposes; it must be disposed of with household waste.
19. If the product gets on the skin and / or mucous membranes, they should be rinsed with plenty of running water. If accidentally swallowed, give a large amount of water to drink (4-5 glasses) and induce vomiting. In case of allergic reactions, you should immediately contact a medical institution (with instructions for the use of the drug and a label).
