7. Dispose of unused product with expired shelf life in accordance with legal requirements.

8. Released without a veterinarian’s prescription.

II. Pharmacological properties

9. Pharmacotherapeutic group of medicinal product: antibiotic.

10. Florfenicol, which is part of the drug – a synthetic broad-spectrum antibiotic of the amphenicol group, is a thiamphenicol derivative in whose molecule the hydroxyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom. Bactericidal against most Gram-negative and Gram-positive microorganisms, including Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Enterobacter spp., Escherichia coli, Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, A. pleuropneumoniae, P. multocida , Haemophilus parasuis. Streptococcus suis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Shigella spp., Moraxella bovis and others.

Active florfenicol against most mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and

Mycoplasma hyorhinis and others), as well as against bacteria that produce acetyltransferase and are resistant to chloramphenicol.

Florfenicol, binding in the protoplasm of a bacterial cell with a ribosomal subunit

70S, blocks the enzyme peptidyl transferase, which leads to inhibition of synthesis

protein at the level of ribosomes in sensitive microorganisms.

After parenteral administration of the drug, florfenicol is rapidly absorbed and penetrates most organs and tissues, reaching maximum serum concentrations in 30-90 minutes, and remains in the body in a therapeutic concentration of at least 48 hours.

Retards the growth of some microorganisms (Pasteurella multocida) within 72 hours. The antibiotic is excreted from the body in unmodified form and in the form of metabolites mainly with urine, to a lesser extent with feces.

The preparation according to GOST 12.1.007-76 refers to the 3rd class of danger (substances moderately hazardous).

III. The order of application

11. Floranite is used for the treatment of cattle, horses, camels, small cattle, pigs, dogs and cats in infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tract, urogenital system, with keratoconjunctivitis of bacterial etiology; diseases of hoofs and other infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to Florfenicol.

12. Contraindication to use is the individual hypersensitivity of animals to Florfenicol. With increased individual sensitivity of the animals, it is possible to develop allergic reactions (dermatitis, itching, swelling). In this case, adrenaline and (or) antihistamines (diphenhydramine, tavegil), and calcium preparations (calcium chloride or gluconate) are administered.

13. The preparation is used:

– cattle, horses, camels are injected intramuscularly twice with an interval of 48 hours at a dose of 1 cm3 per 15 kg of animal weight (20 mg / kg of florfenicol) or subcutaneously once in a dose of 2 cm3 per 15 kg of animal weight (40 mg / kg florfenicola) .

– pigs and small cattle – intramuscularly in the neck area at a dose of 1 ml per 20 kg of animal weight (15 mg / kg florfenicol) twice with an interval of 48 hours.

– To dogs and cats – intramuscularly at a dose of 0.05 cm3 per 1 kg of animal weight (15 mg / kg of florfenicol) for 4-6 days with an interval of 48 hours. The maximum volume for introduction into one place to the animal should not exceed 10 cm3.

14. Symptoms of overdose in animals have not been identified.

15. Features of the drug during the first admission or when it is canceled: not established.

16. It is forbidden to use the preparation Floranit for pregnant and lactating females, boars-producers.

17. Passage of the next dose of the drug should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic effectiveness. If the interval between two injections of the drug is accidentally increased, it should be administered as soon as possible.

18. Contraindication to use is the individual hypersensitivity of animals to Florfenicol. With increased individual sensitivity of the animals, it is possible to develop allergic reactions (dermatitis, itching, swelling). In this case, adrenaline and (or) antihistamines (diphenhydramine, tavegil), and calcium preparations (calcium chloride or gluconate) are administered. It is forbidden to use medicinal product for the treatment of animals during pregnancy and lactation, as well as to male producers, as well as with expressed renal or hepatic insufficiency;

19. Floranite should not be mixed in the same syringe with other medicines, used together with thiamphenicol, chloramphenicol, cephalosporin, fluoroquinolones, antibiotics from the penicillin group.

20. Slaughter of pigs for meat is allowed no earlier than 8 days after the last application of Floranite. Slaughter of cattle, horses, camels and small cattle for meat is allowed no earlier than 15 days after the last intramuscular and 22 days after the last subcutaneous injection of Floranite. Meat of animals, who were forced to die before the expiration of this period, can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals.

IV. Personal prevention measures

21. When working with a medicinal product, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions prescribed in dealing with medicinal products should be observed.
