INSTRUCTION
on the use of Biometrosanite for the prevention and treatment of endometritis in cows, mares, sows, ewes and goats.

I. General information
1. Trade name of the medicinal product: Biokerosene (Biometrosanit).
International nonproprietary name: furazolidone + nystatin + metronidazole.
2. Dosage form: intrauterine tablets.
Biometrosanite in one tablet weighing 20 g as active ingredients contains 1.2 g furazolidona, 720000 UNITS of nystatin, 0.6 g metronidazole, 7.18 g citric acid, 7 g sodium bicarbonate, 0.2 g calcium stearate, 3.3 g starch and 0.4 g monoglycerides distilled saturated brand M-2.
3. Biometrosanite is produced packaged in foil with thermolak or in plastic bags with zip-lock (grippers). Shelf life of the drug under the conditions of storage in a closed package-2 years from the date of manufacture.
It is forbidden to use Biometrosanite after the expiration date.
4. The drug is stored in a closed packaging of the manufacturer, in a dry, protected from light, at a temperature of 5°C to 250 C.
5. Biokerosene should be stored in places inaccessible to children.
6. No special precautions are required when disposing of unused or expired medicines.
II. Pharmacological properties
7. Pharmacotherapeutic group: antibacterial drugs in combinations.
Furazolidone, which is part of the drug, has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action. It is active against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, as well as some protozoa.
Nystatin is an antibiotic used as an antifungal agent in diseases of internal organs (candidiasis).
Metronidazole has a wide spectrum of action. It is active against anaerobic bacteria, treponemes, amoebas, Giardia, histomonads, balantidias and trichomonads.
The drug on the degree of exposure to the body refers to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
III. The order of application
8. Biometrosanite is used for the prevention and treatment of uterine inflammation in cows, mares, sows, ewes and goats after complicated and pathological childbirth, detention of the afterbirth, caesarean section, acute postpartum catarrhal, purulent and chronic endometritis.
9. Biotronic contraindicated for pregnant cows and cows with known hypersensitivity to the components included in the preparation.
10. Before the introduction of Biometrosanite, sanitary treatment of the external genitals and the root of the tail of cows is carried out.
The tablets are injected through the cervical canal into its cavity with a forceps or a hand in a disposable polyethylene glove. In the case of increased uterine dryness, the amount of intrauterine fluid can be increased by injecting 150-200 ml of sterile saline into the uterus for normal foaming.
For prophylactic purposes, Biometrosanite is prescribed twice with an interval of 48 hours to cows and mares-1 tablet, sows, sheep and goats – ½ tablet.
For therapeutic purposes, Biometrosanite is administered once a day to cows and mares – 1-2 tablets, sows – ½ – 1 tablet, sheep and goats – ½ tablets, until recovery.
11. Symptoms of overdose when using the drug has not been established.
12. Features of action of the drug at the beginning of the application Biometricdata or withdrawal thereof is not revealed.
13. If you miss one or more doses of the drug, the course of application must be resumed in the prescribed dosages and the scheme of application.
14. Side effects and complications in the use of Biometricdata in accordance with the instructions for use have not been established.
15. Application Biometricdata not preclude the use of other drugs-specific, pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy.
16. Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed not earlier than 21 days after the end of the application of Biometrosanite. Meat of animals forcibly killed before the specified period can be used for feeding carnivores or for making meat and bone meal.
Milk for food purposes is allowed to be used no earlier than 3 days after the last application of Biometrosanite. Milk obtained from cows earlier than the specified period is used in animal feed after heat treatment.
IV. Personal prevention measures
17. When working with Biometrosanite, the General rules of personal hygiene and safety, provided for when working with drugs, should be observed.
18. When working with the drug, it is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. After work, wash your hands with warm water and soap.
19. If you get Biometrosanite on the mucous membranes of the oral cavity, you must immediately wash them with a stream of clean water, if necessary, consult a doctor.
