INSTRUCTION
on the use of complex antibacterial drug “Oxifur” in veterinary medicine.

I General information
1 trade name of the drug: Oxifur.
International nonproprietary name: oxytetracycline hydrochloride, trimethoprim, sulfamethoxazole, paracetamol, Bromhexine hydrochloride, ascorbic acid, vitamin A.
2 dosage form: powder for oral administration. As active ingredients, the drug contains oxytetracycline hydrochloride, trimethoprim, sulfamethoxazole, paracetamol, Bromhexine hydrochloride, ascorbic acid, vitamin A, filler-up to 1000 g.
The drug by its appearance is a powder of yellow to light brown color.
Oxifur is produced packaged in plastic containers with a polyethylene liner or paper bags with a sealed polyethylene liner. Other packing agreed in accordance with the established procedure is allowed. The packing unit is marked according to the preparation instructions.
3 shelf Life of Oxypora at observance of storage conditions – 2 years from date of manufacture. Do not use the drug after its expiration date.
4 the Drug is stored in a dry, protected from direct sunlight at a temperature of 0°C to 20° C.
5 Occifer should be stored in places inaccessible to children.
6 Unused product with expired shelf life shall be disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
II Pharmacological properties
7 Pharmacotherapeutic group: antimicrobial agents in combinations. The drug has pronounced antimicrobial properties due to its constituent synergistic components (oxytetracycline, trimethoprim, sulfamethoxazole). It is active against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms that cause infectious diseases of animals.
The drug is rapidly absorbed from the intestine into the blood and penetrates into organs and tissues. The maximum antibacterial concentration in the blood is observed 3-4 hours after administration of the drug and is kept at the therapeutic level for 12 hours. The drug is excreted mainly in the urine.
III application Procedure
8 Oxifur is prescribed for the treatment and prevention of bronchopneumonia, colibacteriosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, hemophilosis and other animal diseases caused or accompanied by microflora sensitive to the drug.
9 the Drug is contraindicated in diseases of the blood, acute hepatitis, nephritis, hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Do not use Occifer milch cows, as it is excreted in the milk.
10 the Drug is administered orally with food or drink at the rate of 250 mg of the drug per 1 kg (or 5 g per 20 kg) of animal body weight once a day for 3-5 days.
11 symptoms of overdose when using the drug in accordance with this instruction is not established.
12 specific effects of the drug in the beginning of the application of Oxypora or withdrawal thereof is not revealed.
13 skipping the next dose of the drug Should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. In the case of skipping one or more doses of the drug as soon as possible resume in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.
14 Side effects of the drug are usually not observed. With increased individual sensitivity of animals to the components of the drug, there may be loss of appetite, diarrhea and vomiting. The introduction of the drug in this case, stop and prescribe other treatment.

IV personal prevention Measures

18 when working with the drug, it is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. After working with the drug, wash your hands with soap and water.
19 in case of contact with the skin and/or mucous membranes, it is recommended to wash them with plenty of running water. In case of accidental ingestion – give the victim to drink a large amount of water (4-5 glasses) and cause vomiting. In case of allergic reactions, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have the instructions for use of the drug and the label).
