INSTRUCTION
the use of the drug Macrobiotic for the prevention and treatment of postpartum infections of the genital organs in cows, mares, pigs, sheep and goats.

I. General information
1. Trade name of the medicinal product: Macrobiotic (Metrobiotic).
International nonproprietary name: neomycin sulfate, oxytetracycline hydrochloride, nystatin.
2. Dosage form: foaming uterine tablets.
Macrobiotic contains as active ingredients neomycin sulfate, oxytetracycline hydrochloride, nystatin and filler. In appearance, Macrobiotic is a tablet oval shape light yellow color.
The drug vacuum-Packed in foil with double-or film for food. Tablets in individually wrapped stack of 20 pieces in jars made of polymeric material.
3. Each package is marked with the indication of the manufacturer, its address and trademark, name of the drug, name and content of active substances, serial number, date of manufacture and expiration date (month, year), storage conditions, quantity in a bottle or canister, inscriptions “for veterinary use”, designation of TU and provide with instructions for use.
Shelf life of the drug under storage conditions in a closed package-2 years from the date of manufacture. Do not use the product after the expiration date.
4. The drug is stored in a closed package of the manufacturer in a dry, dark place, at a temperature of 5°C to 25°C.
5. Macrobiotic should be stored in places inaccessible to children.
6. Unused drug with expired shelf life is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
II. Pharmacological properties
7. Pharmacotherapeutic group: antimicrobial and antiseptic agents for use in gynecology. Macrobiotic due to the complex included in its composition antimicrobials (neomycin sulfate, oxytetracycline hydrochloride, and nystatin) has a broad spectrum of activity against pathogens and postpartum infections of the genital organs of farm animals to bacterial and fungal etiology.
Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that has a bactericidal effect mainly against gram-negative bacteria (E. Coli, Enterobacter, Klebsiella, Salmonella, Shigella, Proteus) and a number of certain gram-positive bacteria.
Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the tetracycline group that is active against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Micrococcus, Bacillus, Corynebacterium, Campylobacter) and protozoa (Trichomonas vaginalis).
Nystatin is an antibiotic used as an antifungal agent for diseases of internal organs (candidiasis).
The drug in the degree of impact on the body refers to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).
III. The order of application
8. Macrobiotic used for the prevention and treatment of postpartum infections of the genital organs in cows, mares, pigs, sheep and goats, caused by pathogens sensitive to neomycin, oxytetracycline and nystatin.
9. Contraindications to the use of the drug Macrobiotica is individual hypersensitivity to the drug components.
10. Before the introduction of the drug, sanitary treatment of external organs is carried out.
Pills inserted through the cervical canal into its cavity using forceps or by hand wearing a plastic glove disposable. In the case of increased dryness of the uterus, the amount of intrauterine fluid can be increased by introducing into the uterus 150 – 200 ml of sterile saline for normal foaming.
For preventive purposes, 2-4 hours after birth, cows and mares in the uterus is administered 1-3 tablets, sows 1-2 tablets, sheep and goats-1 tablet twice at intervals of 48 hours.
For therapeutic purposes, the drug is administered in the same doses every 24 hours until recovery.
Contraindications: hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside and tetracycline antibiotics.
11. Symptoms of overdose in the application of the drug is not established.
12. Features of the drug at the beginning of the application or when it was canceled were not revealed.
13. Failure to follow the recommended interval with repeated administration of the drug may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. If you skip the next dose of the drug, its use is resumed as soon as possible in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

15. The use of the drug does not exclude the use of other drugs specific, pathogenetic and symptomatic therapy.
16. Milk from productive animals during treatment, within 24 hours after the last administration of the drug, people are not allowed to eat. Milk obtained in these terms can be used to feed animals.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed not earlier than 3 days after the end of the drug. Meat from animals slaughtered before the deadline, can be used to feed flesh eaters or for production of tankage.
IV. Personal prevention measures
17. When working with Macrobiotica should follow the General rules of personal hygiene and safety provided when dealing with drugs.
18. When working with the drug is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. After working with the drug should wash your hands with soap. Empty containers from the preparation may not be used for household purposes; they must be disposed of with household waste.
19. If the drug gets on the skin and/or mucous membranes, it is recommended to wash them with plenty of running water. In case of accidental swallowing – give the victim a large amount of water to drink (4-5 glasses) and cause vomiting. In case of allergic reactions, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have the instructions for use of the drug and the label).
